Archival Echoes
In 2035, most historical archives exist only in digital form. As Alex, a newly hired digital archivist at the National Digital Archives Center, your job is to preserve the past for future generations.
But when you stumble across disturbing discrepancies in the official records of the "Truth Reform" environmental protests, you face an impossible choice: maintain the approved narrative, or risk everything to uncover what really happened.
Features:
- Make critical decisions that affect the course of your investigation
- Discover evidence that challenges the official historical record
- Navigate relationships with allies and opponents within the archives
- Uncover a conspiracy to rewrite history through digital manipulation
- Experience multiple endings based on your choices
Archival Echoes explores themes of information integrity, historical truth, and the power of controlling narratives. As our world becomes increasingly digital, who controls the past may determine who controls the future.
Created as a final project for Stanford's CS 218 (Information Integrity) course, this game examines the fragility of digital historical records and the ethical responsibilities of those who maintain them.
